Instructions:
Preparation:
If you are in a restroom, pull off a small quantity of toilet paper or utilize 2 tissues (tissues are the best choice due to ease of use), to be used to wipe the stoma area after removing the used pouch. If you do not have access to a restroom, skip this step as it is not mandatory.
Pouch Change:
1. Carefully remove your pouch from your wafer and immediately seal the pouch with the Ostomy Pouch Disposal Seal, pressing around the seal to ensure it is sealed just as you would if you were putting it on your wafer.
2. If available, wipe your stoma with tissue or toilet paper.
3. Put on your new pouch.
Note for Drainable Pouch Users: If your drainable pouch has a Velcro® clipless technology tail closure, it is not necessary to drain the stool contents of your pouch on the last pouch use. Simply leave your drain enclosed and locked as usual and make the pouch change as directed. In this way, you can make your pouch change more efficiently and with less odor if you are at home or in a public restroom. Also, you can make the change in any private setting without the need for a restroom or toilet.
